About Crossroad OPTIONS
The Crossroad OPTIONS Program is a unique alternative justice program that is assessment driven and has the flexibility to address individual needs while reducing common barriers to an individual’s ability to access programming, i.e. flexible program hours, continuous intake, etc. This is the ideal intervention for those individuals involved in the criminal justice system that are at risk for future criminal involvement and who require skills development in one or more of the following areas/domains;
- Education/Employment
- Family/Marital
- Leisure/Recreation
- Companions
- Alcohol/Drug
- Pro-criminal Attitude/Orientation
- Antisocial Pattern
This program will have an independent learning component which will require the referred client to read and write English at a grade 6 level. The intensity of this program will be based on the risk principles, which require higher levels of service be reserved for those more likely to become criminally active. As noted above, this program is assessment driven and offers an opportunity for the client to actively participate in the development of a treatment plan which may include targeting more than one domain. Applications Applications to the program are done through a referral from a Community Justice Worker. The referred individual is then required to contact program staff to schedule an assessment time. To obtain a referral form, the Community Justice Worker can call or email Diane Petrofski at St. Leonard’s Society of Toronto (SLST).
