Why Donate
We Can Build Safer Toronto Communities
Together We have the skills and background needed to help make Toronto streets safer for all of us, but it can’t be done without community support — your support. Your donation will go directly to supporting the youth of the Safer Tomorrows through Education and Play (S.T.E.P.) Program.
The S.T.E.P. Program offers youth a safe and stimulating environment open 5 days a week, operating during the critical hours of 3:30 – 7:00 p.m. when most youth crime is committed.
For a generous donation you will be recognized on our website and our Annual General Report, with other recognition opportunities available. We will also send you an official tax receipt. Most importantly, your support will help at-risk kids make better life choices and provide them with an equal opportunity for success.
Despite decreases in both the proportion of teens aged 15 to 19 and youth crime rates in the 1990s, overall rates of violent crime are still three times higher than they were in the 1960s.- (Canadian Council on Social Development, Crime Prevention through Social Development)
Youth who spend 1-4 hours per week in after-school activities are 49% less likely to use drugs and 37% less likely to become teen parents than students not involved in these activities.-(The National Institute on Out-of-School Time)
