SLST SNAP®

SNAP® (STOP NOW AND PLAN) is an evidence-based, award-winning, cognitive behavioral strategy designed to help children and parents regulate angry feelings by getting them to stop, think, and plan positive alternatives before they act impulsively. The SNAP® model, developed by the Child

Development Institute in Toronto, is the cornerstone for two gender-specific interventions, the Under Twelve Outreach Project (ORP) for boys, and the Girls Connection (GC) program for girls. These programs are designed for children aged 6-11 who display serious conduct problems or characteristics of a behaviour exceptionality such as stealing, lying, mischief and vandalism, aggression, assault, bullying and truancy.

The goals of these programs are to decrease antisocial and aggressive behaviors, and reduce the probability of future criminal involvement by working with students and their parents. The program is offered FREE of charge to families. Transportation, nutritious snacks, as well as childcare for any siblings, are provided as needed.
